Our Approach
Built on Community Wisdom, Not Just Best Practices
At LaVant Consulting, our work is rooted in more than technical expertise. We center community wisdom in everything we do: the lived experiences, voices, and insights of disabled people. And because disability is not a monolith, we prioritize perspectives that reflect a wide range of identities and experiences within disability. It’s the foundation of our Five Pillars of Access™ framework, and it shapes every engagement we take on.

Audit
Our audits are expert-led, in-depth engagements. We combine proprietary rubrics and technical accessibility standards with community-centered methods like focus groups, stakeholder interviews, and social listening. Every audit includes a written report with findings and recommendations, a prioritized roadmap, and a live debrief to review results together.
Our focused audits include:
Digital Access & Inclusive Communications
Social media, digital content, and websites
Best for: Teams working to strengthen accessibility across social media, digital content, and websites.
Our CPACC-certified accessibility professionals evaluate your digital presence for both technical accessibility and cultural accessibility, including how your brand represents and communicates about disability and inclusion. We review:
- Published content across social platforms, campaign assets, video, and other public-facing materials
- Alignment with accessibility standards
- Representation, language, and tone using a proprietary equity-informed rubric
Options range from a focused social media audit to a comprehensive inclusive content review.
Space & Event Access
Events, workplaces, and customer-facing venues
Best for: Event teams and organizations designing physical spaces where everyone can fully participate.
We evaluate the full experience of your events and physical spaces, including workplaces, retail environments, and customer-facing venues. Our reviews cover:
- Pre-arrival planning, including registration and communications
- The in-person experience: wayfinding, seating, sound, lighting, signage, sensory conditions, cognitive clarity, and more
- How staff and vendors interact with and support attendees
We also provide training for staff, partners, and vendors to strengthen access at every touchpoint.
Internal Access & Culture
Policies, communications, and workplace culture
Best for: Organizations looking at how access shows up in policies, communications, and everyday workplace culture.
We review the internal touchpoints that shape employee experience, including:
- Accommodation processes and workplace policies
- Onboarding and internal communications
- Leadership expectations and internal digital tools

We offer training at every level:

Advise
Our Access Partner Program is for organizations that don’t want to navigate implementation alone. After an initial engagement, you’ll receive ongoing strategic guidance, training, and the resources your team needs to keep moving forward.
Think of us as a trusted extension of your team. We stay with you as access becomes part of how your organization operates, not just a one-time initiative. Partner Program members also receive access to recorded training sessions, templates, and implementation resources.

“[LaVant] made the content engaging, was attentive to staff questions, and offered great tips and resources! We've received several positive comments on how insightful the training was for staff and community partners.”
Your Path Forward
Start Wherever You Are
There’s no single right way to begin. Some organizations start with the free assessment and move into an audit. Others come to us with a specific event, campaign, or challenge that needs attention now. And many grow into ongoing partnerships as access becomes part of how they operate.
If what you need doesn’t fit neatly into one category, we have the expertise to design something that works.
