Accessibility
statement

Accessibility is part of who we are. We designed and developed this site with care, collaboration, and lived experience—to create a space that welcomes everyone.

Accessibility is an expression of our values—not an afterthought.

It reflects our passion for lasting change, our belief in designing with and for disabled people, our commitment to impactful innovation, and our practice of mutual respect.

Our website is part of that expression.

Built with KunStudios’ expertise in accessible development and in collaboration with Easy Surf, a disability-led accessibility consultancy, it puts our values into practice. The process itself embodied mutual respect—centering expertise, sharing knowledge, and co-creating a digital space that welcomes everyone. We’re committed to meeting WCAG 2.2 Level AA, leading by example and holding our work to the same standards of access and accountability we champion.

Every design choice reflects our commitment to access and care.

We chose generous font sizes—26 px for body text and nothing smaller than 18 px—because legibility matters.

Line spacing and character length were also carefully considered to make reading comfortable and effortless, especially on our blog.

Colors were tested to meet or exceed WCAG AA standards, and we avoided stark black-and-white pairs that can cause strain.

For focus indicators, we used designer Erik Kroes’ Oreo-focus concept: two black outlines with a white line between them for clear, consistent visibility against any background.

And for images, we drew inspiration from Bojana Coklyat and Shannon Finnegan’s Alt Text as Poetry approach, treating image descriptions not just as technical details but as another way to express care and invite connection.

We built this site on an accessible WordPress theme by KunStudios, shaped by years of expertise and refinement.

Easy Surf also carried out a full audit of the theme and tested it with assistive technologies, such as VoiceOver, screen readers, keyboard navigation, and zoom.

We worked hard to push the accessibility of WordPress as far as we could. Every choice was made with the intention of creating the most inclusive experience possible.

However, some areas are still limited by WordPress and third-party tools and don’t yet meet every part of our accessibility goals. We’re committed to monitoring these areas and improving them as the WordPress platform evolves.

Accessibility is a journey, and we’ll keep learning, testing, and refining to make the experience as welcoming as possible for everyone.
